MINNEAPOLIS -- Andrew Wiggins enters Wednesday night's game against Denver shooting 43.6 percent from the floor, 34.7 from 3-point range and 73.7 from the foul stripe.
But when it comes to Western Conference rookie of the month honors, the Timberwolves wing hasn't missed yet.
The NBA handed Wiggins his fourth consecutive conference first-year accolades Wednesday, rendering him the first rookie to win the award that many times in a row since Damian Lillard in 2012-13. In February, Wiggins led all qualified rookies in scoring (16.8 points per game) and minutes played (38.7 per game) and ranked third in blocks (0.82), third in free-throw percentage (76.3), fourth in field-goal percentage (45.7), eighth in rebounding (4.8 per game) and 10th in assists (2.3).
Wiggins' 22 points, six rebounds and four assists in last month's Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend earned him MVP honors in that game. Leading all rookies in scoring this season, he's the odds-on favorite to win the NBA rookie of the year award.
