Wickenheiser to have surgery, miss women's hockey worlds

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) Four-time Olympic gold medalist Hayley Wickenheiser will have season-ending foot surgery and won't play for Canada in the upcoming women's world hockey championships.
Wickenheiser, Canada's all-time leading scorer, played in last year's Winter Olympics with a broken bone in her left foot. She had surgery last summer but her foot problems persists.
The 36-year-old Wickenheiser intends to play next season.
The women's worlds begin March 28 in Sweden.
