Indians fans who were hoping to see a trade for Boston's Kevin Youkilis will not be pleased with his eventual destination.
The Chicago White Sox, who lead the Tribe by one-half game in the AL Central, upgraded at third base with a trade for the right-handed hitter.
Youkilis has been unhappy in Boston lately (the feelings are mutual, apparently), and was looking for a new environment. The Indians were reportedly high on the list of potential buyers for him, but with Jack Hannahan and Lonnie Chisenhall at third base, Youkilis would have probably ended up playing first base or DHing.
The deal is most likely a good one for Chicago, but probably a better one for Cleveland to have left on the table.
