West Indies rallies against India on final day, eyes draw

KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) An unbeaten century from Roston Chase helped West Indies reach 319-6 at tea and move closer to an unlikely draw against India on the final day of the second test on Wednesday.
Starting the day on 48-4 in West Indies' second innings at Sabina Park, a fighting display by their middle order batsmen - including an inspired 112 from Chase - saw the hosts lead by 15 runs at the end of the second session. West Indies captain Jason Holder was on 21.
Jermaine Blackwood set the early tone, scoring 63 from just 54 balls before he fell to the bowling of Ravichandran Ashwin. His partnership with Chase, who followed up his five-wicket haul, was full of attacking shots.
Beginning the afternoon session on 215-5, batsman Shane Dowrich passed 50 before being dismissed for 74 by spinner Amit Mishra.
Having rattled up a first innings score of 500, India will now have to bowl West Indies out and bat again to win a match that was frequently interrupted by rain on Tuesday.
West Indies trails 1-0 in the four-match series, after an innings defeat in the first test.
