Week ahead for Clippers: Three games at Staples Center

The 16-7 Clippers are back at the Staples Center for three games this week, starting Monday vs. the Pistons starting at 7 p.m.

The week ahead
The Clippers return to Staples Center for three of four games this week. The Pistons come to town Monday for the regular-season series finale between the two teams follwed by the Pacers on Wednesday. The Clippers are looking for season sweeps versus both teams. The club will then have a back-to-back to conclude the week beginning at Denver on Friday and at home against the Bucks on Saturday. It will be exactly a week removed from the Milwaukee's five point-win over the Clippers at the Bradley Center.
The week behind
The week started with the Clippers riding a seven-game win streak and ended with a two-game losing skid. The Clippers streak got up to nine games before it was halted in a 104-96 loss in our nation's capital. They followed that up the next night with a 111-106 loss at Milwaukee.
Record and standings
Entering Monday, the Clippers are 16-7 on the season and remain in second place in the Pacific Division but are now five games behind the first place Golden State Warriors. The club, however, is still sixth in the Western Conference.

For the first time in his career Blake Griffin connected on a buzzer beater. It was a step-back three-pointer for Griffin to lift the Clippers to a 121-120 overtime win over the Suns last Monday. The win extended the Clippers winning streak to eight games. It was the first buzzer beater by a Clipper since 2009.

NBA referee Mark Lindsay ejected Jamal Crawford in the fourth quarter of the team's overtime win against Phoenix last week. It was the first time in his 14-year career Crawford had been ejected from a game.
Player to watch
Free-agent guard Ray Allen. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers admitted the team is interested in the NBA's all-time leading three-point shooter if elects to return to the game. Allen played for Rivers in Boston where the two were a part of the 2008 NBA Championship team.
Stat to watch
The Clippers are 5-1 this season on the second night of back-to-backs. Their first loss came last Saturday at Milwaukee.
