Division I

1. Brophy (1-0)
2. Desert Vista (1-0)
3. Mountain Pointe (1-0)
4. Hamilton (0-1)
5. Chandler (1-0)
6. Red Mountain (1-0)
7. Desert Ridge (1-0)
8. Basha (1-0)
9. Pinnacle (1-0)
10. Westview (0-1)

Mountain Pointe jumps up to No. 3 with the big victory over Hamilton, and the Huskies drop two spots. Red Mountain moves up a spot after beating Westview, which means Desert Ridge has to drop despite an impressive victory over Gilbert. Westview stays in the top-10 because it had a second-half lead on the Lions. Desert Mountain is knocking on the door, but couldn’t put away Mountain View until late, which keeps the Wolves out of the rankings for at least one more week. Pinnacle wasn’t great but did get the victory against O’Connor to move up a spot. There again seems to be a gap after the top-8, though. If Highland has another impressive win next week, it could start entering the top-10 chatter.

Division II

1. Centennial (1-0)
2. Salpointe (1-1)
3. Marcos de Niza (1-0)
4. Chaparral (0-1)
5. Ironwood Ridge (1-0)
6. Cesar Chavez (1-0)
7. Perry (1-0)
8. Willow Canyon (1-0)
9. Notre Dame (0-1)
10. Horizon (1-0)

Centennial holds steady atop the rankings. Salpointe moves up a spot after a big road win at Chaparral, dropping the Firebirds to No. 4. Marcos de Niza dominated Notre Dame to move up a spot, while the Saints drop three places to No. 9. Horizon enters the rankings, barely edging out Cienega, which lost to Sabino. Ironwood Ridge, Cesar Chavez, Perry and Willow Canyon all remain in the top 10.

Division III

1. Cactus (1-0)
2. Sabino (1-0)
3. Saguaro (0-1)
4. Queen Creek (1-0)
5. Paradise Valley (1-0)
6. Williams Field (1-0)
7. Liberty (1-0)
8. Desert Edge (1-0)
9. Arcadia (1-0)
10. Campo Verde (1-0)

Saguaro drops two spots after a last-second loss to Paradise Valley. The Trojans move up four spots to No. 5. Cactus takes over at No. 1 after cruising in its opener, and Sabino checks in at No. 2 after defeating Cienega. Queen Creek sticks at four, while Williams Field, Liberty and Arcadia also stay in the rankings. Desert Edge defeated Thunderbird to join the rankings as the Chiefs dropped out. Campo Verde slides in at No. 10 and Peoria drops out after a loss to Apollo.

Division IV

1. Blue Ridge 1-0
2. Show Low 2-0
3. Seton Catholic 1-0
4. Snowflake 1-0
5. Florence 1-0

No changes to Division IV. Lakeside Blue Ridge won a nail-biter at Cottonwood Mingus to stay atop the rankings, while Show Low’s impressive win at St. Johns makes a case for them to move up to No. 1. Seton Catholic crushed Fountain Hills 49-0, also a solid feat given that Fountain Hills is an annual competitor. Snowflake and Florence both won easily.

Division V

1. Yuma Catholic 0-0
2. NW Christian 0-0
3. Scottsdale Christian 1-0
4. Tempe Prep 1-0
5. St. Johns 0-1

Yuma Catholic and Northwest Christian stay the same temporarily since they’ll face each other Saturday night (Aug. 25) at the NAU Skydome in the season opener. So much has changed for both teams since Yuma Catholic won the state championship thriller against NWC last November, but it should be a great matchup again. St. Johns falls from No. 3 to No. 5 after losing big at home to Show Low, but the Redskins’ schedule offers them some leeway which keeps them in the rankings. Both SCA and Tempe Prep slide up one spot with victories coupled with St. Johns’ loss.

Division VI

1. Joseph City 1-0
2. Pima 1-0
3. Scottsdale Prep 0-0
4. Joy Christian 0-0
5. Mogollon 1-0

No changes here from the preseason rankings.
