Senior quarterback Khalil Tate ripped off long touchdown runs of 75 and 90 yards for California's Serra Cavaliers on Friday in a performance slightly muted by a referee who sprinted alongside the plays.

The video above (via @SportsRecruits) shows both of Tate's touchdown runs. In the first, footage shows the "4.3 referee" running stride-for-stride with Tate until he turns on the afterburners for the final 20 yards, and then gets in position to signal for a touchdown. Clearly the officiating team had identified the man as their best sprinter and assigned him as the back judge.

In the second touchdown run, the referee once again turns on the jets as Tate races past defenders for a touchdown.

By the way, Tate's heroics in a 356-yard rushing performance wasn't enough to lift Serra to victory as the Mater Dei Monarchs bested them 28-27.
