NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- David Washington threw for 291 yards and two touchdowns, Ray Lawry and Jeremy Cox each ran 42-yards for a touchdown and Old Dominion recovered from a slow start to post a 31-21 victory over UTEP on Saturday afternoon.

Mark Leftwich threw a 7-yard TD pass to Tyler Batson five minutes into the game but the Miners (4-6, 2-4 Conference USA) missed the point after. After Jay Mattox booted a 22-yard field goal with 1:19 left, UTEP took a 9-3 lead into the second quarter.

Lawry broke his 42-yard TD run less than a minute into the quarter, and after Leftwich and Washington traded touchdown passes Old Dominion (5-5, 3-3) had the lead for good.

Leftwich finished with 193 yards on 21-for-38 passing for three touchdowns, but was picked off twice by Fellonte Misher.
