Vols Kick Off 2010 Campaign

Tennessee football began today with Derek Dooley holding his pre-camp press conference. The Volunteers will start practice tomorrow at 2:15 and 7:45. The early practice will include mostly returning starters and veterans, with the 7:45 practice being for freshmen and newcomers. The Vols will hold their first full-squad practice on Saturday, August 7th at 2:30 and will put on pads for the first time Sunday.
Tennessee, which was tabbed to finish 5th in the SEC East, will likely have a strong defense led by senior linebacker Nick Reveiz and senior end Chris Walker. On the other side Tennessee will looking for quarterback Matt Simms and running back Tauren Poole to take control of the offense. Special teams could be special with Tennessee signing the No. 1 kicker in the country, Michael Palardy, and the late signing of the No. 1 punter, Matt Darr.
