Volleyball freshman Gardner named All-Pac-12

Arizona State freshman outside hitter Macey Gardner was named to the All-Pac-12 Volleyball first team, becoming ASU's first first-team selection since 2002.
Gardner was also named to the All-Freshman team along with Sun Devil teammate Allison Palmer. ASU senior Erica Wilson was an honorable mention all-conference selection.
Gardner ranks second in single-season kills at ASU with 562 and is one of only three freshmen to lead the Pac-12 conference in total kills -- joining two-time All-American Kristee Porter (1998) and four-time All-American and Olympic gold medalist Natalie Williams (1990) of UCLA.
Palmer's 1,430 assists were second best in the conference and rank fourth in school history.
Wilson had 507 kills to raise her career total to 1,110.
ASU's Bethany Jorgensen and Jenny Teslevich were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic Team, and Caitlyn Francis was second-team All-Academic.
Oregon's Alaina Bergsma of Oregon earned Pac-12 Player of the Year honors, and USC's Samantha Bricio was Freshman of the Year. The rest of the top honors went to Oregon’s Lauren Plum, Setter of the Year; USC's Natalie Hagglund, Libero of the Year; and Stanford's John Dunning, Coach of the Year.
