The Minnesota Vikings have retained their top backup offensive tackle.

Minnesota re-signed Mike Harris on Tuesday. Harris, 26, played in 12 games for the Vikings last season and started five games at right tackle.

Harris was a restricted free agent to whom the Vikings tendered a right of first refusal offer last week, which would have been worth $1.542 million. Terms of the re-signing weren't immediately available.

Harris was acquired off waivers from the San Diego Chargers before the start of last season. He backed up tackles Matt Kalil and Phil Loadholt before finishing as the starter at right tackle when Loadholt was placed on injured reserve. Harris, who has played in 32 NFL games and made 17 starts, even saw his first action at guard in the NFL.
