Vikings 2013 preseason slate released

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings will open and close the 2013 preseason at home in their final year playing in the Metrodome.

The NFL announced the 2013 preseason schedule on Thursday. Minnesota, coming off last year's playoff appearance, begins the preseason at home against the Houston Texans. Exact dates and times have not been announced.

Three of the opponents, Houston, Buffalo Bills and the San Francisco 49ers, are repeats from last year's preseason. The Vikings will be facing the Texans in the preseason for third straight year.

After opening against Houston, Minnesota will have road games at Buffalo and at the defending NFC champion San Francisco. The game against the 49ers will be televised on Sunday Night Football on NBC on Sunday, Aug. 25.

The Vikings will wrap up the preseason at home against the Tennessee Titans.

In the regular season, Minnesota faces the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers. The Vikings will travel to Green Bay, Detroit, Chicago, the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens and Seattle Seahawks.

The regular season schedule will be released later this offseason.
