Aside from being part of its creation in 2004, the co-owners of Chivas USA, Antonio and Lorenzo Cue, collaborated with various committees of MLS owners to expand the league from 12 to 19 teams in the US and Canada.

“It has been a great honor to be a part of MLS and we are very proud of the role we have played in the growth of the league,” said Antonio Cue. “We have enjoyed our time with Chivas USA and we would like to thank our partners, owners and the league office.”

“Chivas USA entered MLS in 2005 at a crucial stage for North American football,” said MLS Commissioner Don Garber. “Antonio and Lorenzo Cue have been owners and greatly passionate, in addition to partners for the last eight years. I would like to express my eternal gratitude to the Cue family for their support and confidence in United States soccer. We hope to work closely with Jorge and Angelica as new partners of the club.”
