USD rolls over Saint Mary's 61-43


SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Johnny Dee scored 17 points as San Diego rolled over St. Mary's 61-43 on Thursday.
San Diego (13-10, 4-6 West Coast) held the Gaels to just 13 field goals for the game. St. Mary's (16-6, 6-3 West Coast) shot just 25 percent, including a woeful 1 of 14 from beyond the arc.
Both teams came out slowly, combining to hit 1 of 10 shots in the early going. They were tied at 11 with 8:20 left in the first when San Diego went on a 12-0 run, including a pair of treys by Duda Sanadze. The Toreros led 29-18 at the break, and St. Mary's made just 8 of 31 shots in the half.
San Diego opened the second half with a 9-2 run and never looked back.
Sanadze and Dennis Kramer both scored 14 points for San Diego.
Brad Waldow led St. Mary's with 18 points.
