Garland Lakeview guard Jamarlus Demas remembered when he and teammate Toddrick Gotcher were freshmen playing varsity basketball for the first time. If nothing else, it was a learning experience.

"We played at the same middle school, and we hadn't lost a game in two years," Demas said, "but it was different in high school. I still remember playing South Oak Cliff and seeing big Bobo [2008 graduate J'mison Morgan]. We were scared to death."
