The University of Minnesota men's basketball team knew it was going to spend its Thanksgiving holiday in the Bahamas, but the Gophers now know who they will face in the opening round of the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament.

Tournament directors announced Thursday that UM will face Duke in an opening-round game on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22.

Missouri and Stanford will open the tournament, while other first-round matchups include Memphis taking on VCU and Louisville facing Northern Iowa.

The Gophers will meet Duke for just the third time in school history and the first time since the Blue Devils knocked UM out in the 1989 Sweet 16.
