UCLA linebacker Eric Kendricks wins Butkus Award

UCLA's Eric Kendricks has been named the winner of the Butkus Award, named for former NFL star Dick Butkus and given to the nation's top college linebacker.

Kendricks, a senior, has 139 tackles this season, his third consecutive year over 100. He also had three interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, and two sacks.

The other finalists for the award were Mississippi State's Benardrick McKinney, Clemson's Stephone Anthony, TCU's Paul Dawson, UCLA's Myles Jack, Penn State's Mike Hull, Tennessee's A.J. Johnson and Nevada's Zach Vigil.

Dick Butkus and his son Matt presented the award to Kendricks in front of the UCLA team Tuesday morning.
