UC provides update on injured QB Legaux

University of Cincinnati senior quarterback Munchie Legaux (New Orleans, La./Edna Karr) suffered an injury to his left knee during the Illinois game on Saturday. Legaux, who was resting comfortably at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill., was transported to UC Medical Center in Cincinnati on Sunday and is being evaluated by UC sports medicine personnel.
Legaux, who earned the start in UC’s first two games after a training camp battle, was injured with just over nine minutes remaining in the game. Legaux had dropped back to pass and was tackled below the knees and his left leg bent awkwardly. Sports medicine personnel from both teams were on the scene instantly and Legaux was transported to the hospital directly from the stadium. At the time of the injury, the 6-5, 200 lb. signal caller had thrown for 237 yards and a touchdown while rushing for another 52 yards on the ground. Updates will be provided by UC athletics as more information becomes available.
