UC-NC State To Meet In ESPN's 24-Hour Hoops Marathon

The University of Cincinnati men's basketball team will play host to NC State as part of ESPN's College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 5 p.m. ET at Fifth Third Arena. The game will be televised by ESPN, who made the announcement on Monday.
The matchup is also the first game in a two-year agreement between the two schools, with Cincinnati making a return trip to Raleigh, N.C., during the 2014-15 campaign.
"We're thankful to ESPN and excited to have our program on the national stage when we take on NC State as part of the Tip-Off Marathon," UC head coach Mick Cronin said. "NC State also has a great program with a strong tradition and we're glad to have a home-and-home series with them for the next two seasons."
The two teams haven't met since the 2007-08 season and have played only twice since 1958. NC State owns a 6-1 lead in the series, having won the last meeting, an 85-77 decision in Raleigh, N.C., on Dec. 23, 2007. The Bearcats posted their only win in the series the previous year, an 80-71 result, on Dec. 23, 2006.
UC returns two starters and eight lettermen from last season's squad that posted a 22-12 overall record and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the third consecutive year. Senior guard Sean Kilpatrick returns after averaging a team-high 17.0 points last season while earning second team all-conference honors for the second consecutive year.
The complete UC men's basketball schedule will be released at a later date.
