HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Chad Frazier scored 13 points and led a balanced Alabama-Birmingham attack to beat Marshall 68-62 on Thursday night.

UAB (16-10, 5-7 Conference USA) led Marshall 30-29 at the break and the score seesawed throughout most of the second half leading into the final 7 minutes of play. That's when the Blazers outscored Marshall 10-5, taking a 5- point lead into the stretch. Marshall (9-18, 3-9) failed to make any headway as UAB made 8-of-12 free throws in the final 2:10 to hang on for the win.

UAB shot only 34 percent from the floor, but the Blazers, who are second in the nation in rebounding average (45.3), gathered 51 rebounds in overpowering Marshall inside.

Fahro Alihodzic and Robert Williams scored 12 apiece, and C.J. Washington notched 10 rebounds for UAB.

Chris Thomas led the Thundering Herd with 22 points, while Cheikh Sane grabbed 12 rebounds.
