TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona women’s soccer team earned a 1-0 triumph over Utah on Sunday in a double-overtime thriller.

UA (6-10-3) junior Shannon Heinzler scored the game-winning goal with two seconds remaining in the second overtime period to give the Wildcats the victory.

“It’s exciting for us, because that’s how we wanted to send our seniors out,” Wildcats coach Lisa Oyen said. “There have been a lot of tough losses we have walked off this field with. This is the last impression we are having, and this is the one we want to leave, especially for the seniors.”

In the win, junior Jazmin Ponce attempted five shots and Ana-Maria Montoya registered two shots. Utah (8-7-2) outshot UA 19-12, with Ashton Hall, Baylee Nielsen and Katie Taylor leading the Utes with four shots apiece.

In net, Wildcats goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman finished with 11 saves in the match. Utes goalkeeper Lindsey Luke recorded three saves.
