UA, ASU, NAU put 17 in showcase games
Jan. 12, 2012
Along with the recent increase in college football all-star games has come an increase in opportunities for players looking to showcase their talents, and this year's group of Arizona-based seniors is taking advantage.
There will be 17 players from the three in-state universities taking part in various postseason showcase games, including eight players from Arizona, six from Arizona State and three from Northern Arizona. Arizona and ASU each will be represented in all three major games -- the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game (which will be televised on FOX Sports Arizona on Jan. 16), the East-West Shrine Game (Jan. 21) and the Senior Bowl (Jan. 28) -- while Northern Arizona is represented in both the Casino Del Sol showcase game and the FCS Senior Scout Bowl, which is exclusively for Football Championship Subdivision players and was played last month.
