U.S. Open Hole 2 preview -- Chambers Bay, 18 holes in 18 days

In the 18 days leading up to the June 18 start of the U.S. Open Golf Championship, FOX Sports.com and Golfweek will preview the Chambers Bay course -- one hole at a time.
Today's hole: No. 2, Par 4, 399 yards
There’s a lot to adjust to here, like uneven lies on tees. However, if players take the time and commit to a shot, they’ll find a stance that fits their comfort zone depending upon the preferred shot shape. A lot of players will lay up from the tee because the hole plays down the prevailing breeze, and a massive sand splash comes into play at 280 yards out. The right side of the fairway has been narrowed, creating the narrowest driving lane on the course. This firm, fescue fairway could run almost as fast as some greens. If the weather stays as dry as it has been in May, it might take only a 3- or 4-iron off the tee to get in position for a wedge approach. The green here tilts multi-dimensionally – from right to left, toward a steep fall-off on the low side and then in turtle-back fashion as well, with the front coming up and the back part rolling away.
