Two Reds in top five at positions in All-Star voting


Two Reds are getting love in the first round of National League All-Star voting results released by Major League Baseball Wednesday.
Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips is in third place among second baseman, more than 300,000 votes behind first place Chase Utley of the Phillies. Phillips is hitting .276 with 3 HR and 16 RBI.
Cincinnati's Devin Mesoraco comes in fifth place for NL catchers with more than 150,000 votes. St. Louis' Yadier Molina, who has no love lost with Cincinnati, is tops with 600,000-plus votes.
The 25-year-old Mesoraco has had a breakout year behind the plate, hitting .361 in 23 games.
Phillips has been selected to the All-Star team three times in his career.
