MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins have placed right-handed reliever Anthony Swarzak on the 15-day disabled list with a mild rotator cuff strain and selected the contract of right-hander Luis Perdomo from Triple-A Rochester.

To make room for Perdomo on the 40-man roster, Minnesota placed starter Carl Pavano on the 60-day disabled list. Pavano was previously on the 15-day disabled list with a right shoulder strain.

Perdomo began the season with Double-A New Britain and eventually moved up to Rochester. Combined between the two levels, Perdomo has appeared in 37 games with a 2.14 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 59 innings in relief. He spent parts of the 2009 and 2010 seasons in the majors with the San Diego Padres, appearing in 36 total games. In 35 appearances in 2009, Perdomo posted a 4.80 ERA.

In 31 games this season, Swarzak was 2-4 with a 4.43 ERA in 69 innings out of the bullpen.
