MINNEAPOLIS -- Fortunately for Ryan Doumit, his concussion didn't keep him out of the lineup very long.

The Twins catcher/outfielder has been reinstated from the seven-day concussion list, seven days after being placed on it. He left the team's Aug. 7 game against Kansas City with concussion-like symptoms and was listed as disabled two days later.

He'd taken a foul tip off his mask in the previous series against Houston and felt nauseous on Minnesota's plane ride to Kansas City but didn't tell anyone about his symptoms until exiting in the fourth inning against the Royals, once again citing nausea.

Doumit, who missed a total of eight games, is hitting .244 with 44 RBI and an OPS of .699 in 99 games this year.

To make room for Doumit on the roster, the Twins optioned Chris Colabello to Triple-A Rochester. In 29 games, he was hitting .221 with four home runs and eight RBI.

Doumit will be available in Friday night's 7:10 p.m. contest against the Chicago White Sox.
