Twins, FOX to celebrate 'The Sandlot' 20th anniversary

FOX Sports North, in conjunction with FOX Home Entertainment and the Minnesota Twins, today announced plans to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Sandlot. The classic film will be shown on the scoreboard at Target Field, following the Twins vs. Red Sox game on Sunday, May 19 (approximately 4:30 p.m.) as well as on FOX Sports North following Twins Live. 
Director, Writer and Narrator, David Mickey Evans will attend the event at Target Field.
"You're Killing Me Smalls!" A film that still captures the hearts of baseball fans young and old, The Sandlot debuted on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack March 26 from Twentieth Century FOX Home Entertainment in celebration of the beloved film's 20th Anniversary. "A charming and whimsical comedy about boys and baseball and a GREAT BIG DOG" ("Siskel & Ebert"), The Sandlot has been deemed the best baseball movie of all time.
FOX Sports North, in connection with FOX Home Entertainment, will also coordinate baseball field renovations across Twins Territory so loyal fans and baseball lovers everywhere will get the chance to enjoy their own "Sandlot" field.  Fans can apply for the "Sandlot Scholarship" through the Minnesota Twins "Fields for Kids" program at: http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/min/community/field_for_kids.jsp. Applications are currently being accepted, and the deadline to apply is May 19.
