MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins announced the completion of the Drew Butera trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In exchange for Butera, the Twins received left-hander Miguel Sulbaran from the Dodgers.
Sulbaran is a 19-year-old pitcher from Venezuela who pitched this year for the Class A Great Lakes Loons of the Midwest League. In 23 games (16 starts) this year, Sulbaran was 6-4 with a 3.01 ERA. He struck out 85 batters in 92 2/3 innings while walking 27. He's allowed just three home runs this year.
This completes the trade for Butera, who was dealt to the Dodgers for a player to be named later or cash back on July 31. Sulbaran will report to Low-A Cedar Rapids.
