Tulsa rolls past Florida Atlantic 71-52

BOCA RATON, Fla. (AP) -- Rashad Smith scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds and James Woodard added 19 points as Tulsa defeated Florida Atlantic 71-52 on Thursday night.



Tulsa shot out to a 34-18 lead at halftime, shooting 41.2 percent to FAU's 25 percent. The Golden Hurricane kept their double-digit lead in the second half and led by as many as 26 points with 3:38 to go. Tulsa finished at 47.5 percent shooting while holding FAU to 31.3 percent, the ninth straight opponent the Golden Hurricane have held under 40 percent.



Tulsa (14-12, 9-3 Conference USA) has won four consecutive games and 10 of their last 13.



D'Andre Johnson scored 12 points, Justin Raffington scored 10 and added nine rebounds while Marquan Botley scored 11 points for the Owls (10-17, 5-7).



Tulsa outrebounded FAU 42-32 with the Golden Hurricane grabbing 12 on the offensive boards and holding a 44-18 scoring advantage in the paint.
