Toreros can't slow down streaking Saint Mary's

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Matthew Dellavedova scored 19 points including five 3-pointers, had seven assists and Saint Mary's (Cal) won its ninth straight in a 74-64 victory over San Diego on Saturday night.

Brad Waldow scored 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting for the Gaels (21-4, 10-1 West Coast), which shot 49.1 percent from the field and hit 12 3-pointers.

Saint Mary's jumped out to a 12-2 lead to begin the game capped off by Mitchell Young's lay-up with 16:42 remaining in the first half. Three minutes into the second half, Johnny Dee converted on a three-point play to cut the Gaels' lead to one, 38-37, but Saint Mary's responded with a 9-0 run to take a double-digit lead and never looked back.

Dee ended the night with 19 points and seven rebounds. Chris Anderson had 10 points, six rebounds and five assists for San Diego (13-13, 6-5).
