Time off offers Buckeyes chance to heal

With one major exception, Urban Meyer's Ohio State football team has remained relatively healthy so far this season. He sounds hopeful to have the handful of injuries the team is facing to be resolved by the time its week off is over.
He told reporters Wednesday running back Jordan Hall has a "joint issue in his knee" that caused him to miss the Buckeyes' 40-30 win at Northwestern last Saturday.
While that was a vague description, the versatile senior was able to practice Wednesday, which seems like a good sign for his potential availability when the Buckeyes return to action Oct. 19 at home against Iowa.
Meyer admitted his team missed both Hall and senior safety Christian Bryant, whom he called "juice players." Bryant is out for the year with an ankle injury.
He also said cornerback Bradley Roby, who briefly left the Buckeyes' Sept. 29 win against Wisconsin with what appeared to be a back or side injury and was seen holding his back during the Northwestern game, is 100 percent healthy.
Per BuckeyeSports.com, sophomore defensive linemen Adolphus Washington (ankle) and Tommy Schutt (foot) are both expected to be available as well. Schutt has not played yet this season, but he could offer depth behind starting tackles Joel Hale and Michael Bennett, both of whom have played very well so far. Washington is one of the team's starters at end, but true freshman Joey Bosa has excelled in his place as he has been in and out of the lineup.
