Defense? Nah. Offense? Pffft. Ball security? Absolutely not. Energy? Yawn.

This is hardly the way to ask for $150 million.

A day after Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak, Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and others laid out their Target Center renovation plans with only the funding as the only obstacle, the Timberwolves laid an egg on their home court on Wednesday in a 102-84 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

"All of the areas we wanted to focus on, we didn't get the job done," coach Kurt Rambis said.

The only detail holding anyone's attention in the fourth quarter was Kevin Love's double-double quest, as his 33-game streak was in jeopardy with only four points and nine rebounds through three quarters. Love made it interesting by missing three consecutive free throws in the first four minutes, but his layup with 6:04 left gave him 10 points and 10 boards and sole ownership of the longest single-season double-double streak in team history.

Kevin Garnett ended the 2005-06 season with 33 consecutive double-doubles and notched four more to start the 2006-07 campaign for his franchise best 37-game run.

Love's double-double felt hollow considering Minnesota's 19-point deficit at the time, which ballooned to 24 points a few minutes later. The Wolves trailed by eight at halftime and were down by double digits for the game's final 21 minutes.
