Three third period goals lift Badgers past Penn State 4-2

Trailing 2-1 in the third period, Wisconsin scored three goals to defeat Penn State 4-2.



After Penn State took a 1-0 lead just over five minutes into the game, Badgers' Seamus Malone's goal tied the game at 1-1.

With just over a minute remaining in the first, the Nittany Lions scored on the power play to take a 2-1 lead.

Wisconsin erupted for three goals after a scoreless second. Josh Ess tied the game before Will Johnson re-directed a shot with under four minutes to play to give the Badgers their first lead of the night.

Trent Frederic sealed the deal with an empty-netter.
