Three takeaways from the Blue Jackets' loss to the Flyers

One: The score after 20 minutes was 1-0 in favor of Columbus, but they took too many undisciplined penalties. It was almost as if they were daring the Flyers to try and make a comeback. Once again, they had a miniscule number of shots on goal, with only 4 being tallied in the first.

Two: Although two more goals were scored in the 2nd to give the Blue Jackets a 3-0 lead, they were not executing plays with ardor. This came back to bite them in the 3rd period, as they had a meltdown of epic proportions.

Three: This is not the same Flyers club that started the season 3-8-0 and saw Peter Laviolette fired as head coach after the first three games (all losses). They are now 16-15-4 and in 3rd place in the Metro Division. To use the vernacular of Todd Richards, there was "pushback". Only this time, it was by the opposition.
