Three Takeaways from the Blue Jackets 6-3 win over Winnipeg

The second night of back-to-back games used to not be so kind to the Blue Jackets. That was not the case against Winnipeg. Gather 'round and absorb the three takeaways from tonight's gameâ¦
One: It took Columbus a bit of time to get their legs under them. The first period was pretty much all Jets and the game could have had a very different outcome. They need to be able to get to the point of playing a full 60 minutes every single time they take the ice. The fore-check was absent at the start, but made an aggressive appearance for the final 40 minutes.
Two: The short-handed goal by Mark Letestu was the spark that the Blue Jackets needed and took the crowd out of the game. A four goal output by them in the span of just over 8:30 was the insurance they needed in the second period.
Three: Nathan Horton is everything that was thought about him when he decided to sign with Columbus last summer. Although he didn't get a goal tonight, he's elevating the play of his line-mates. Artem Anisimov is playing much better, both offensively and defensively. Boone Jenner is playing with a renewed vigor that is a direct result of being on a line with a player of Horton's caliber. Two goals and a physical presence on the ice, all night long.
