One: Both teams were feeling each other out, with the Blue Jackets able to sustain more time in the offensive zone than were the Maple Leafs. Tenacity, speed, skill and hard work marked all three first period goals by the Blue Jackets.

Two: Although neither team had any stakes in the outcome of the game, the Blue Jackets kept their foot on the pedal and were relentless. They were opportunistic with the puck and not hesitant to block shots when up by four goals before the halfway point of the game.

Three: The way the Blue Jackets are playing to finish the season should give everyone hope that this is a team to be wary of next season. When healthy, they are a team that can compete on a nightly basis with anyone. They believe in themselves and this puts the other teams on notice to be ready for next year.
