Three takeaways from the Blue Jackets 3-1 win over the Wild

One: They started with a cautious but physical pace to the game. The line of Tropp (8:00 TOI), Letestu (12:21 TOI) and Skille (9:30 TOI) was fast, energetic and opportunistic, although they weren't rewarded with a goal. As a team, they had some good possession in the first stanza.
Two: They took their foot off the gas slightly in the middle frame and played a looser game. Bobrovsky had a big stop on a penalty shot by the Wild's Parise. Their successful four-minute penalty kill to end the second period was one of their best kills all season. They had active sticks and support along the boards for the entire four minutes.
Three: Rookie Alex Wennberg is becoming more comfortable at the NHL level as the game slows down for him. James Wisniewski scored the 50th goal of his career with a power play tally. Bob was doing "Bob" stuff, no big deal.
Overtime: Kudos to Brian Giesenschlag and Bill Davidge for doing the pre/post-game show from outdoors next to the rink in place for the NHL All-Star Weekend. By doing this, they added another layer of pure hockey goodness to the "Blue Jackets LIVE" show on FOX Sports Ohio. They will be out there all week, broadcasting live. Make sure to stop by and say hello.
