One: Columbus came out of the gate skating with confidence and speed. They had the Kings on their heels just 1:40 into the 1st period with a goal resulting from a snazzy power play. They came at L.A. in waves and had a good fore-check working. The hard work the team is now known for was showing.
Two: Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky was outstanding, even when the rest of the team let off the gas and stopped shooting at the net as frequently in the 3rd period. Special teams did a good job not allowing the Kings to score on their multiple power plays.
Three: For the most part, the officiating was decent... with one glaring exception. In the 2nd, the Kings captain, Dustin Brown, laid an open-ice hit into rookie defenseman Ryan Murray, with Murray's head being the principle point of contact. Brown led with his elbow and left his feet. He was assessed a two minute penalty. I can't see how, after the league reviews the hit, that Brown won't be assessed with a suspension.
