One: Columbus minimized their mistakes and skated toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the NHL. They played "their" game, not getting caught up in a track meet with the fast and physical Sharks.
Two: They were opportunistic, especially on the first goal by Ryan Johansen. They utilized sustained pressure and a decent fore-check to help slow down San Jose. They are finding the form that they had at the end of last year.
Three: Nick Foligno is thriving on the top line with Ryan Johansen and Boone Jenner. He's scored goals from his belly, battles hard along the boards and last night was a playmaker from his knees. He's the epitome of the "hard work" mantra laid down by President of Hockey Ops John Davidson and GM Jarmo Kekalainen.
