Three Oklahoma golfers to U.S. Women's Public Links Championship

NORMAN, Okla. - Three University of Oklahoma golfers will tee off in the U.S. Women's Public Links Championship starting Monday at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman.
Oklahoma's Chirapat Jao-Javanil, Taylor Schmidt and Anne-Catherine Tanguay are among the field of 156 who will compete in two rounds of stroke-play qualifying Monday and Tuesday. The field will then be cut to the low 64 scorers for match play. A total of six match-play rounds will be conducted over the next four days to determine the champion. The final match will be contested over 36 holes.
Jao-Javanil is OU's only two-time first-team All-American and is ranked No. 12 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
In May, OU played host to the 2013 NCAA Women's Central Regional and finished in second place out of 24 teams. Tanguay (-5, tie for second place) and Jao-Javanil (-3; sixth place) each finished in the top 10 out of 126 competitors.
