Ben Eager's four-game suspension expired on Monday after the Atlanta Thrashers' miraculous 3-2 shootout victory over the Florida Panthers. But before Eager could return to the Thrashers, they decided they no longer had room for him.
Deep at left wing, the Thrashers traded Eager to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday for a 2011 fifth-round draft choice. Eager had a short stay in Atlanta, having arrived in June in the blockbuster trade with Stanley Cup champion Chicago along with Dustin Byfuglien and Brent Sopel.
