COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) -- Ross Stripling threw the 11th no-hitter in Texas A&M history, shutting down San Diego State in a 1-0 victory Saturday.

The senior right-hander allowed only a walk in the fifth inning while striking out seven during his 106-pitch outing -- which he called "the best pitching game of my life" -- on the day he was scheduled to graduate.

It was the school's first no-hitter since Zach Jackson's seven-inning no-no against TAMU-Corpus Christi in 2004. It was also the first nine-inning no-hitter since Matt Blank tossed one against Texas-Pan American in 1996.

Stripling (9-2) outdueled the Aztecs' Michael Cederoth (3-4), who allowed an unearned before leaving in the fifth after being struck in the jaw by a line drive. He walked off the field under his own power.
