The only name hotter than Johnny Manziel in college football right now might be his coach, Kevin Sumlin.

After navigating Texas A&M to an 11-2 record in its first season in the SEC – and his first season in College Station – Sumlin is at the top of a lot of lists for potential hires, including some in the NFL.

Reportedly, the Philadelphia Eagles approached Sumlin when talks with former Oregon coach Chip Kelly hit a snag.

Kelly ultimately took the Eagles' job, but Sumlin isn't interested in leaving the college ranks, according to comments he made recently to Yahoo! Sports.

"I was lucky to grow up in a two-parent home and a lot of the guys I deal with now don't have that," Sumlin said. "Winning is important but it's really important to impact people's lives. That's the reason I love college football for some crazy reason. From 18-23, 24, you have guys who go through a lot and you can help develop them not just as players but as men. And I think that's really important right now."

Of course, Sumlin has the right to change his mind some day. And if he keeps doing an impressive job in the college ranks, NFL teams will continue to call.

For now, at least, Sumlin has made his stance clear that he's a college guy.
