I live in Tennessee, but most of the time when I read what our state legislature is doing, I pretend that I don't live here. In fact, I think there's probably a strong market for t-shirts that say, "I don't live in Tennessee, I live in Nashville."

That's because the state legislature is, how do I put this delicately, a complete and total disaster filled with idiots. The legislature has spent most of this session debating whether to make the Bible the official state book. I wish I was kidding.

Now they're trying to make it harder to get an abortion. Which has the potential to be crippling to the country music industry. But I digress...

The latest disaster to befall the state? Someone decided it was time for a new state logo. That's despite the fact that the three star logo is actually iconic, popular, and well done.

That is, everyone fucking loves it and sees no need to replace it.

Despite this, the legislature decided to pay $46k to a design firm to come up with the new, vibrant, forward looking logo to represent the state.

And they came up with this.
