Looking at a box score is something anyone can do. Who lead my team in scoring? How'd we shoot from the field? And while that knowledge is useful, does it really earn you bonus points around the water cooler?

That's why I'm here. I'm bringing you the S.W.I.M: Statistics Worth Increased Media. Let Joe from accounting regurgitate what he heard on the way in this morning; you're better than that. Use these nuggets to gain a unique perspective about last night's Pelicans/Nuggets game.

Blocking shots in the NBA is no easy feat, but Anthony Davis has blocked at least four shots in a higher percentage of games this season than Carmelo Anthony has recorded at least four assists.

The Pelicans have struggled of late, but not when Davis is aggressive in major minutes. They won their fourth straight game when their star records at least 40 minutes and five free throw attempts.

Tyreke Evans has made 40 field goals in his last five games, a total that he didn't reach until the tenth game to start the season.

Evans scored 20 points but only three assists and two rebounds. It was his first game with 20-plus points and without at least five rebounds or assists this season.

The Pelicans are 4-1 this season when Greg Stiemsma pulls down eight-plus rebounds: they are22-36 in their other 58 games.

Anthony Morrow is averaging more shots per 48 minutes in March (28.2) than LeBron James (26.0) and Kevin Durant (26.6).

New Orleans now has four winning streaks that have lasted at least three games. The Pelicans have scored at least 100 points in every one of those contests.

The Nuggets have now lost back-to-back games in which Kenneth Faried shot at least 75% from the field after winning the previous seven such regular season games.

Denver has lost eight straight games when Randy Foye either doesn't play or tallies fewer than ten points.

Foye has attempted at least seven triples in nine straight games. For reference, only Steph Curry averages more than seven 3PA (minimum 25 games played).

Ty Lawson broke his career record for assists in consecutive games (29). It was also the lightning point guard's first double digit assist game with 0 rebounds.

The Nuggets have lost six straight and haven't won a game in more than two months when Wilson Chandler pulls down at least seven rebounds.

Among players with at least 60 games played, J.J. Hickson ranks fourth in rebounds per 48 minutes.
