CAPE TOWN, South Africa (AP) Sunwolves lock Tim Bond has been suspended for four weeks in Super Rugby for a dangerous tackle in the loss at the Stormers.

Bond was sent off for the high shoulder charge to the head of Stormers fullback Cheslin Kolbe late in the game at Newlands on Friday night.

He was also cited and his punishment was announced Sunday by tournament organizer SANZAAR, which said Bond pleaded guilty to the offense.

The New Zealander will miss three Super Rugby games for the competition newcomers from Japan: away at the Cheetahs and home matches against the Jaguares of Argentina and the Western Force of Australia.
