Suns win summer league opener behind Goodwin, Warren

Archie Goodwin scored 22 points and T.J. Warren had 20 as the Suns beat the Wizards 86-77 Saturday afternoon at the Cox Pavilion in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Alex Len added 17 points, eight rebounds and blocked three shots to help the Suns in their summer league opener.

Rookie guard Devin Booker, the team's first-round draft pick last month, scored 12 points off the bench in his pro debut. Booker shot 4 for 11, including 0 for 4 from 3-point range.

Point guard Mickey McConnell, a product of Dobson High in Mesa, came off the bench and played 22 minutes compared to just 13 for fellow point guard Jerel McNeal, who started the game.

The Suns next play the Rockets (1-0) at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
