The Phoenix Suns will be “Back in Black” when they host the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night at US Airways Center. After being selected as one of seven NBA teams to wear a “Hardwood Classics” uniform this season, the Suns will sport the popular black and orange jerseys worn by the club from 1994-2000. Tipoff is at 8:30 p.m.

In celebration of the retro jerseys, the Suns are asking fans to support the “Back in Black” initiative by dressing in all black, creating a “Blackout” at US Airways Center. The first 10,000 fans to enter the arena will receive a complimentary “Back in Black” Suns T-shirt, courtesy of FOX Sports Arizona.

Prior to tipoff, fans will also receive a special opportunity to meet the “Original Sun” and Ring of Honor member Dick Van Arsdale, who will be on hand to sell and autograph calendars filled with his artwork. Van Arsdale’s signing will take place from 6-8 p.m. in the Casino Arizona Pavilion.

The black Adidas jerseys will be available for purchase in the Suns’ Team Shop in February. For additional information about the “Hardwood Classics” jersey and “Back in Black” nights, fans can log on to suns.com/retro.

A limited number of tickets are still available for the game, which also features the return of former Suns All-Star Steve Nash. They can be purchased at suns.com/tickets or by phone at 1-800-NBA-TIX.

The Suns will host a total of seven “Back in Black” nights throughout the rest of the season, during which the team will don the retro look. A complete list of the “Back in Black” home games is below.
