Sun Devils cooled by Cougars 78-61

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) -- DeAngelo Casto scored 25 points and Klay Thompson added 22 as Washington State defeated Arizona State 78-61 on Thursday night.
Thompson scored 14 of his points in the second half. His two straight 3-pointers in the first two minutes after halftime gave the Cougars (14-5, 4-3 Pac-10) a 50-38 lead.
Casto shot 11 of 18 from the field and had four blocks.
Ty Abbott led the Sun Devils (9-9, 1-5) with 16 points.
Washington State was without its second-leading scorer, Faisal Aden (knee). Arizona State was without three reserves due to injury or illness: Carrick Felix, Brandon Dunson and Chanse Creekmur.
Reggie Moore, who was suspended by Cougars coach Ken Bone for the Stanford game on Saturday, started and finished with 11 points.
