DETROIT -- One more game, one more loss and one more opponent that despises Detroit Lions bad boy Ndamukong Suh.
Ten days after kicking Houston quarterback Matt Schaub in the groin to draw a $30,000 fine that he’s appealing, Suh is back in the middle of another controversy.
This time, it was Indianapolis offensive guard Mike McGlynn who had words for Suh immediately after the Colts’ last-second touchdown in Sunday’s 35-33 victory over the Lions.
The incident that led to McGlynn’s anger came with a little under seven minutes remaining when Suh evidently laid out Colts offensive tackle Winston Justice following an interception by the Lions. Justice suffered a concussion and didn’t return.
McGlynn said he was most annoyed by the reaction from Suh and other Lions following the injury.
“Totally ignorant on their part,” McGlynn told the Indianapolis Star. “Just childish stuff. We’re all battling out there. I don’t know if the hit was legal or not, but clearly he (Justice) was hurt, and they’re out there dancing and pointing at him and laughing. Just blatant disrespect. They’re good players but there’s no room for that. It’s disgusting, really.
“If that had happened to one of their players, we’d never do something like that. But that’s what makes this (victory) even sweeter. That’s why they lose. I hope they never win another game.”
During his weekly Monday press conference, Lions coach Jim Schwartz disagreed with the accusation.
“We’re excited about it,” Schwartz said, referring to the interception. “I don’t think anybody’s reveling in anybody being injured or anything like that.”
Suh, a 6-foot-4, 307-pound defensive tackle, wasn’t available for comment.
